Wärtsilä Engine Room Desktop Simulator

Wärtsilä Engine Room Desktop Simulator

At Aboa Mare, we operate a modern Wärtsilä TechSim Desktop Engine Room Simulator, providing flexible and realistic training for marine engineers, engineering officers, and engine room personnel.

The simulator consists of one dedicated instructor station and twelve student workstations, allowing instructors to conduct individual, team-based, and scenario-driven training in a controlled learning environment. Each student station provides access to Wärtsilä’s advanced engine room simulation software, enabling trainees to develop operational competence, technical understanding, and decision-making skills in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Available Simulator Configurations

The Wärtsilä desktop simulator includes a wide range of engine room and propulsion models, covering:

  • Medium-speed diesel engine plants
  • Slow-speed diesel engine plants
  • Diesel-electric propulsion systems
  • Integrated machinery and automation systems
  • Electrical power generation and distribution systems
  • Auxiliary machinery systems
  • IGF Code-compliant LNG engine room operations
  • Methanol fuel systems and machinery operations

Available Simulator Configurations

The simulator supports both basic and advanced maritime engineering education, competence development, and professional training, including:

  • Engine room familiarization
  • Engineering watchkeeping procedures
  • Machinery operation and monitoring
  • Engine room automation and control systems
  • Electrical power management
  • LNG bunkering and Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS)
