The Advanced Oil Tanker course is intended for officers and ratings who have completed the Basic Tanker Course. The course comprises a specialised training programme appropriate to the duties of the trainees. The topics include oil tanker safety, fire safety measures and systems, pollution prevention, operational practice and obligations under applicable laws and regulations.
The Advanced Oil Tanker course provides training e.g. for masters, chief engineers and officers. The trainees successfully completing the course should be able to take immediate responsibility for loading, discharging and care in transit or handling of cargo on oil tankers.
