Aboa Mare provides ECDIS training (Electronic Chart Display Information System) with several ECDIS systems. Every ECDIS system has its own ECDIS classroom as well as installations on simulator bridges. Generic ECDIS courses are intended both for candidates for certification as officers in charge of a navigational watch and for experienced nautical officers and other persons with responsible duties in navigation work, such as pilots.
A trainee successfully completing a generic ECDIS course will be able to use ECDIS for his navigational watch. He/she will be able to operate ECDIS equipment, use the navigational functions of the ECDIS, select and assess all relevant information and take proper action.
