Upon completing this training,
the participant will
- Understand azimuthing propulsion system theory
- Be familiar with principal differences between conventional propulsion systems and azimuthing propulsion systems
- Know how to control vessels with azimuthing propulsion systems
- Be prepared to control an azimuthing vessel in possible malfunction situations
- Be able to receive and give steering commands, e.g. during pilotage
- Have knowledge about different azimuthing systems and how to operate them
- Have knowledge about resulting forces
- Additional maneuvering capabilities with azimuthing propulsion systems
- 4 simulator bridges with azimuthing propulsion controls
- On 3 simulator bridges we can provide DAS/DAT (double-acting ship/double-acting tankers) training with azimuthing propulsion systems
- Aboa Mare can provide azimuthing propulsion training on two simulator platforms (Wärtsilä Transas and Aker Arctic ice simulation)
- All azimuthing propulsion training can take place in ice conditions. Navigating, maneuvering in ice and icebreaker assistance operations
- We can provide towing/escort towing training with several ASD tugboat models
