The Medical First Aid Provider Course is intended for seafarers designated to provide medical first aid. The aim is to provide the trainees with basic skills and knowledge to give first aid in case of an illness or various kinds of accidents onboard.

3-day course covering requirements set by STCW and IMO Model Course for Medical First Aid. All aspects defined in IMO Medical First Aid and Model Course 1.14 will be covered.

Upon completing this training,
the participant will
- Know how to raise the alarm and what information is required
- Be able to carry out assessment of casualties and patients
- Recognize and apply immediate appropriate medical first aid measures in common injuries and cases of illnesses
- Be familiar with the content and the use of the medical equipment found on board ship

- The course provides both theoretical and practical hands on training in good balance using the equipment found on board
- The Medical First Aid instructors are experienced in casualty work and have considerable hands-on experience from the emergency care, operating theatre and outpatient field. The instructors are registered as first aid instructors according to the Finnish Red Cross.
- Our Elementary First Aid training is approved by the Finnish Maritime Authorities (Traficom)
- The course is mobile, it can also be held in chosen environment, also on board your ship
