Pilotage Exemption Certificates
Pilotage Exemption Certificates (PECs) are granted for specific fairways and specific vessels. The examination can be taken at Aboa Mare and it comprises a blank chart examination, a written examination and a simulator test.

Exemptions
Exemptions are granted for specific fairways or several fairways and specific vessels. Exemption from using a pilot can be granted to the Master or Officer of a vessel, the gross tonnage of which is less than 3,700 tons or to an icebreaker. The examination can be taken at Aboa Mare and it comprises a written examination and a simulator test.
